More than 1,200 students attended the annual Exchange Expo where they learned about partner universities and how they can receive credit while studying abroad.

The Exchange Team recently hosted their annual Exchange Expo program to promote international opportunities to UNSW students, including student exchange, short programs and internships. These opportunities allow students to undertake short-term study overseas with the opportunity to receive credit towards their UNSW degrees. The strong attendance at the expo demonstrated the increasing demand and interest from students to take their degrees global.

Social media was used to engage attendees on the day as student ambassadors posted stories, photos and interviews. Anyone who used #unswexchange had the opportunity to print their photos via Tagsnap.

A desire to share their exchange experiences with other students added to the buzz in the atmosphere. “Travelling in between semester with new friends and living on campus was an unforgettable experience”, said Isaac, UNSW student ambassador.

Over 68 representatives from more than 50 partner universities, consulates, third-party providers, faculties and the New Colombo Plan alumni attended the event. In addition, over 100 inbound exchange or returned exchange student volunteers represented their home or host university. The Exchange Expo provided an opportunity for partner universities to give an update on the exchange program at UNSW, along with a campus tour.

Partner university representatives were also invited to attend the NSW Welcome to Sydney event at Luna Park.  This gave the Exchange Team an opportunity to showcase Sydney to their international guests and a taste of what exchange students can experience when studying in Australia.
