A further one-off payment for all eligible UNSW staff in time for Christmas

As negotiations for the Enterprise Agreements continue, UNSW staff will receive a one-off payment of up to $2000.

In March 2022, UNSW commenced negotiations for new Enterprise Agreements for both academic and professional staff. The goal was new Agreements by the end of the year to enable staff to receive a pay increase commensurate with the rising cost of living as soon as possible. Despite our best efforts to finalise negotiations in 2022, discussions with employee unions will continue into the new year with the parties committed to resolving new Agreements for staff as soon as possible.

While the existing Agreements will continue to apply until they are replaced by new Agreements, there are no further salary increases scheduled to be paid to staff under the current Agreements.

UNSW recognises the impact of current inflationary pressures on the cost of living for our staff and their families. With no further scheduled pay increases until new Agreements are in place, UNSW has approved a further one-off payment to all eligible continuing, fixed term, and casual UNSW staff of up to $2,000 plus applicable superannuation (excluding members of the University Senior Leadership Team, which includes Deans and members of Management Board).

This payment is in addition to the salary increases in January and July, and a one-off payment of $1000 provided to staff in July this year which approximates, on an average UNSW salary, to an additional 4% for 2022. Please see the FAQs on the HR Hub for more information on the one-off payment, including further eligibility details.

We encourage you to stay informed as we progress the negotiations for our new Agreements.

The dedicated Enterprise Bargaining page on the HR Hub is updated regularly and there is a feedback form for any questions or feedback you have. We encourage all staff to engage with the Enterprise Agreements process to ensure fit for purpose Agreements which support our community into the future.

Our sincere thanks to you for your incredible contribution and ongoing commitment to UNSW.
