On Saturday 6 September we are expecting more than 40,000 attendees to come to Open Day, which is consistently UNSW’s largest event of the year.
UNSW’s Open Day is an opportunity to welcome curious high school students, their parents/caregivers, postgraduate students, alumni and the general community to our vibrant campus. Our 2025 Open Day will be held on Saturday 6 September from 9am to 4pm.
“Open Day provides an important opportunity to welcome prospective students and their families on campus, showcasing why we are a global top 20 university for the third consecutive year,” said Sofia Lloyd-Jones, Executive Director, Marketing & Digital Experience.
“Together, we can showcase the very best of UNSW – our dynamic student life, our globally impactful degrees and, most importantly, the people who bring our community to life.
“Open Day is about more than just discovering what’s on offer – it’s about making connections. By introducing future students to our inspiring staff, current students and alumni, we’re helping them see what’s possible. We deeply appreciate the effort across our entire University community that makes Open Day such an engaging and inclusive experience,” Sofia said.
Aligned with the University’s new 10-year strategy, this year’s Open Day theme is ‘Progress for All’. It will run throughout the event and will be brought to life on the day through an artificial intelligence (AI) activation and the breadth of our faculty activities and talks.
From diverse admissions pathways to a wide range of support services and scholarships, UNSW is committed to expanding access and supporting student success – wherever a student’s journey begins. This year, our new ‘Your Pathway to UNSW’ advisory zone will enable students to discover their unique path to UNSW, showcasing the variety of pathways available through spotlighting the journeys and achievements of current students.
“Thank you to the many staff who bring their expertise, energy and time to making Open Day such a memorable and meaningful experience. From tailored advice across our central and faculty zones, to approximately 130 lectures, behind-the-scenes tours and activations – every interaction helps future students imagine what they can achieve at UNSW and explore their exciting career opportunities. Your contribution plays a vital role in shaping their decisions and inspiring them to see UNSW as the best fit for their ambitions,” said Sofia.
