AGSM @ UNSW Business School have formally welcomed back Professor Nick Wailes, who has taken up the role of Deputy Dean, Director AGSM from 1 February 2018.

“For the past three years Nick has been Associate Dean (Digital & Innovation) in the Business School, leading many of the faculty's strategic initiatives that are transforming the way we operate,” said Dean of the Business School Chris Styles.

“Prior to this, Nick was Director of the MBT and AGSM Online which, amongst other projects, involved the development and launch of the very successful MBAX.”

Before joining UNSW, Nick developed and led a number of initiatives at University of Sydney, which allowed them to re-enter the MBA market following the dissolution of the joint venture with AGSM, including the development and launch of a Master of Management (now ranked 25th globally in the FT), and the MBA. Nick also brings to the role extensive corporate engagement and networks.

“I’m really delighted to be joining AGSM and am excited about the opportunity we have to contribute to the 2025 strategy," Nick said.

"The next generation of managers and leaders face new and complex challenges and together we have the opportunity to help them develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities they need to respond to these challenges in new and innovative ways.”

Nick takes over from Professor Clinton Free (Academic Director, AGSM), who assumed the role in an interim capacity following the departure of Professor Julie Cogin, who leaves UNSW after 18 years at the university to take up a new role at The University of Queensland.
