The program empowers women to launch startups.
Calling all UNSW women – students, staff, researchers and alumni. Do you have a new business idea, research you want to translate into real-world impact or are you keen on building your professional and personal skills?
The free in-person New Wave program is back this September.
New Wave is your chance to:
- connect with like-minded women and collaborate on ideas
- learn entrepreneurial essentials like pitching, leadership and design thinking
- work 1:1 with startup coaches and gain insight from industry-leading mentors
- pitch to real industry leaders at a final showcase
- compete for up to $15,000 in cash prizes
- go behind the scenes at companies like Amazon and Microsoft on exclusive site visits
- build confidence and make new friends
- get recognised with UNSW Advantage accreditation.
The program will run from Monday 1 to Tuesday 12 September 2025, with six sessions across two weeks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30am to 4pm.
How to apply
You don’t need an idea or a team to apply. There are three ways to join:
- Apply without an idea (we’ll help you find a team)
- Apply with an idea (looking for collaborators)
- Apply solo or with a full team (ready to roll).
