D2L Brightspace announced as future LMS at Town Hall

More than 2800 staff joined UNSW's second online all-staff Town Hall for 2026, where UNSW Provost and Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Vlado Perkovic joined Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education & Student Experience Professor Sarah Maddison to announce UNSW’s future Learning Management System (LMS), D2L Brightspace. Vice-President Societal Impact Equity & Engagement Professor Verity Firth moderated the all-staff event.

The announcement generated strong interest across the community, with more than 90 questions and comments submitted during the 45-minute session. More than 100 staff have already expressed interest in helping shape the future LMS through the program's Design Together activities. We continue to encourage you to join us to Design Together.

Brightspace will transform digital teaching and learning at UNSW. It provides the opportunity to create a more connected, intuitive and accessible learning experience that empowers students to thrive and enables academics to focus on what they do best: teaching and inspiring the next generation.

Some of the questions asked at the Town Hall have now been answered and published, and more responses will be shared in future editions of Inside UNSW.
