Progress for All was the focus of UNSW Open Day 2026, as prospective students and their families experienced the people, ideas and opportunities that could shape their future.
More than 44,000 future students and families joined us at UNSW Open Day 2026 on Saturday 5 September, with 1680 student and staff ambassadors welcoming attendees across our vibrant Kensington and Paddington campuses.
Throughout the day, prospective students explored their study options, experienced campus life, and connected with the people who make our community distinctive. From lectures and demonstrations to advisory zones, campus tours and workshops, visitors had the chance to discover what their future at UNSW could look like.
"Open Day gives future students and their families the opportunity to experience firsthand what makes UNSW’s education experience distinctive – from our people and student community to the breadth of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities," said Sofia Lloyd-Jones, Executive Director, Marketing & Digital Experience.
"As Australia's #1 university and a global top 20 institution, UNSW offers students a world-class education with strong outcomes beyond graduation. Open Day brings our campus experience to life and helps future students imagine what they could achieve here."
Building Progress for All
Guided by the University's 10-year strategy, this year's Open Day explored how education can empower people to create meaningful progress for themselves, their communities and the world.
At the heart of the campus, the Build Progress for All Activation invited visitors to contribute to a large-scale interactive installation inspired by the idea that progress continues to evolve. The Your Pathway to UNSW Advisory Zone highlighted the many ways students can begin their UNSW journey, with information on admission pathways, scholarships and support services, as well as firsthand stories from current students.
Throughout the day, visitors could choose from over 200 lectures, tours, demonstrations, workshops and student experiences.
"A huge thank you to the academics, professional staff and student ambassadors across our faculties and divisions who contributed their expertise, energy and time," said Ms Lloyd-Jones.
"Open Day is truly a University-wide effort and it is the enthusiasm of our community that helps students feel informed, welcomed and excited about what could come next."
As Year 12 students turn their attention to final exams and university preferences, Open Day has given thousands of prospective students the opportunity to explore their options and imagine the progress they are capable of achieving.
