Are you looking for a desk for your home office, an extra chair or some useful storage? The UNSW Furniture Reuse sale is giving students and staff the opportunity to take home pre-owned University furniture at affordable prices while helping keep useful items in circulation for longer.
Held at the Mathews Pavilions from 9am to 2pm on Saturday 24 October, the sale builds on the UNSW Furniture Reuse Program and the University’s broader commitment to reduce waste and make better use of existing resources.
A range of pre-owned furniture will be available to browse on the day, including chairs, desks and workstations, tables, bookshelves, storage and other selected items.
There are no catalogues and no reserving your favourites – come along, have a look and see what you can find.
Taking furniture home or furnishing a UNSW space?
Furniture purchased at the sale is for personal use only. If you need furniture for University purposes, browse the UNSW Furniture Reuse store instead.
Before you visit
All furniture is pre-owned and sold in its current condition. You’ll be able to inspect items on the day before deciding what to take home.
A few things to know:
- items can’t be held or reserved
- payment must be made by credit card – cash will not be accepted
- all purchases are final, with no exchanges, returns or refunds
- you will need to arrange your own transport and remove purchased items within the nominated sale timeframe.

Parking
Find Mathews Pavilions on the UNSW campus map before you head to the sale.
Parking is available in marked bays at Gate 9 car park. If you’re collecting larger or heavier furniture, please use Botany Street Parking Station, Gate 11, for easier loading.
