The policy is open for consultation until Thursday 22 October 2026.
A new Draft Student Administration Policy is now open for feedback.
The policy sets out the principles and requirements for student administration, including admissions, enrolment, recognition of prior learning, financial support, fees and refunds, graduations, prizes and medals. It applies to UNSW students and staff across all award and non-award programs, unless stated otherwise.
The draft policy is part of the Policy Transformation Program which is simplifying and improving the University’s policy framework.
This policy streamlines existing requirements and will replace the:
- Admission to Coursework Programs Procedure
- Admissions Policy
- Coursework Scholarships Procedure
- Deceased Student Procedure
- Enrolment Policy
- Enrolment and Withdrawal Procedure
- Graduation Procedure
- International Student Transfer Between Registered Providers and PRISMS Reporting Procedure
- Prizes Procedure
- Recognition of Prior Learning (Coursework Programs) Procedure
- Student Fee Policy and procedure
- Student Loans Procedure
- University Medal Policy
- University Medal Procedure.
This updated draft states overarching principles and objectives and contains four procedures covering student administration as well as an extensive list of relevant terms and definitions. It is also supported by five additional instruction-level documents that provide more detailed guidance for operational activities.
Please note that a new approach is being trialled to capture feedback for this policy. Share your feedback online until Thursday 22 October 2026.
