Expressions of interest are now open to nominate for positions on our new UNSW Disability Governance Committee.

Reporting to UNSW’s Council, the Committee will provide advice and oversight on UNSW’s work to advance disability inclusion and accessibility, including the use of funding provided through the Australian Government’s Disability Support Fund.

UNSW is seeking expressions of interest for:

  • two academic employees
  • one professional staff employee
  • two students
  • two external, independent members.

Membership must comprise a majority of people with disability and the committee will seek to reflect a diversity of lived experience, backgrounds and perspectives.

UNSW has an amazing community of people who bring lived experience of disability and/or expertise in disability inclusion, governance, policy development, strategic planning, higher education, student experience or workforce inclusion. You are encouraged to apply.

Please submit a CV or short resume and a statement of interest of no more than 300 words to governance@unsw.edu.au by 5pm Monday 26 October 2026. Applicants should include any accessibility requirements they have for the application process or committee meetings.

No formal evidence of disability is required. Applicants applying as a lived-experience member (for example person with disability, neurodivergence, chronic illness) will be asked to confirm this in their application to ensure the committee meets the membership requirements.
