UNSW Online launches Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Project Management

The program is the only dedicated qualification in healthcare project delivery in Australia.

UNSW Online has expanded its postgraduate offerings with the introduction of the Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Project Management and a Healthcare Project Management specialisation in the existing Master of Project Management and Graduate Diploma in Project Management. 

The new program was developed by the School of Population Health in the Faculty of Medicine & Health in partnership with UNSW Online and the School of Engineering and Technology at UNSW Canberra. 
It’s the first partnership between UNSW Online and Medicine & Health. 

The Graduate Certificate is the only dedicated, end-to-end qualification in healthcare project delivery in Australia despite the rapidly growing demand for project management capability across the health sector. It builds on the success of the existing Leadership specialisation delivered by UNSW Canberra to create a truly interdisciplinary portfolio that caters to professionals seeking project management expertise in diverse contexts and industries.  

“Healthcare projects operate in a uniquely complex environment, requiring specialised skills to navigate governance, safety, stakeholder needs and change in ways that differ from other large industries and organisations,” said Associate Professor Anne Hodgen who is the Academic Lead for Healthcare Project Management. “This program arms students with the strategic judgement, critical thinking and deep project expertise to excel in these complex environments.” 

The new specialisation will equip students with the theoretical and practical skills to design, implement and manage projects in complex healthcare organisations, with a strong focus on governance, legal, ethical, cultural, safety and quality requirements.

The programs will be delivered online in the accelerated hexamester calendar to offer in-demand, flexible study options for busy professionals.

The Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Project Management adds to the growing UNSW Online portfolio, which includes programs in AI Leadership and Strategy, Analytics, Applied Finance, Business Law, Business Psychology, Counselling, Cyber Security, Data Science, Financial Technology, Human Resource Management, Management, Psychology and Project Management. These programs cater to the increasing demand for flexible and engaging postgraduate content.
