2021 was a year of challenges and a year of achievements.
It marked the first year of the newly restructured PVC Education & Student Experience (PVCESE) portfolio, comprising the four pillars of Education, Experience, Wellbeing and Innovation, all cornerstones of the student learning journey at UNSW.
As the Innovation pillar of the PVCESE, we drive educational technology innovations and devise new educational approaches across our physical and digital environments. Our focus is on reimagining, improving and uncomplicating the student and staff experience.
We are pleased to release our 2021 Annual Report (accessible to UNSW staff only), highlighting the Innovation pillar’s contribution to implementing the PVCESE strategy, with its core themes of acting on insight, educators of excellence, a demanding standard and building communities.
Over the last year, we launched and continued key projects and initiatives, such as Inspera, Moodle Enhance and Innovation Partners. We adopted a design-thinking approach to ensure a user-centred perspective in all our projects and services, enabling both staff and students to play an active role in co-designing their education experience.
The Innovation pillar would like to thank all the academic staff, professional staff, and students who we have worked with in the past year, from those that have given us feedback through surveys and focus groups, to those that have volunteered for pilots. Your input and participation have been central in determining what the student experience will look like in the years to come.
In 2022 and beyond, we hope to further refine how we listen and engage with the wider UNSW community to better understand your priorities and challenges, and to further explore opportunities for collaboration.
You can visit the PVCESE Innovation Pillar SharePoint site to keep up to date with our latest projects, initiatives and other work throughout the year.
