The new and improved UNSW Newsroom is now live.

In exciting news, the University’s flagship news channel, the UNSW Newsroom, has had a facelift. The new site delivers an improved audience experience worthy of its award-winning stories with real-world impact.

The new Newsroom has a refreshed, modern design with a visual focus, bringing to life the breadth of research and impact stories published daily.

Key features include an increased focus on connecting UNSW experts to media, redesigned subscriber communications, mobile-first design and multimedia capabilities.

“We’re thrilled to have launched our new and improved UNSW Newsroom,” says Monica Melki, Head of News & Content.

“After extensive consultation with key audiences, and taking inspiration from best-in-class products in our market and beyond, we have launched a site we’re truly proud of.”

The stories featured on the Newsroom promote UNSW as one of the leading research and teaching-intensive universities in the world, known for innovative, pioneering research and high-quality education with global impact.

“The Newsroom is focused on showcasing our most high profile and high impact research achievements, academic expertise and opinion, and success stories from across our community,” Ms Melki says.

“In its new format, we’ll be able to bring that content to life in an even more engaging way, drawing on our team’s superb storytelling and creative skills.”

Digital transformation across UNSW

The Newsroom launch is happening in the context of a broader web and digital marketing transformation that seeks to improve the digital experiences of our community – including students, academics, researchers, staff, alumni, industry partners and others.

Like other key digital hubs across the University, including the UNSW home page, the Future Students landing page and the faculty sites, the new Newsroom draws on the power of the Adobe suite of products.

“This project has been a wonderful collaboration between our core News & Content team, our web transformation team, IT and external agency partners,” Ms Melki says.

“Together, we’ve built new, dynamic content modules that cover the specific needs of our diverse audiences, enabling visually stunning multimedia content. Within the Adobe ecosystem, we have access to advanced analytics and performance insights, which means we’ll be able to further improve and optimise our content in the future.”
