The program from 10–20 September will feature five works as part of an innovative performance incubator.
TheLab@UNSW is a bold new initiative from UNSW’s School of Arts & Media in partnership with the Sydney Fringe Festival that will transform the Esme Timbery Creative Practice Lab into Sydney’s most exciting incubator for artistic innovation.
The partnership grew from a desire to create a program showcasing emerging and new artistic voices alongside established and exciting artists who are masters of their craft.
For two electrifying weeks this September, TheLab@UNSW will host five performances that push the boundaries of traditional art forms. These works blur disciplinary lines, embrace technology and reimagine what performance can be in the 21st century.
The performances were selected by a panel of UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture (ADA) experts and a guest judge following a competitive expression of interest. The five shows span a range of genres, styles and art forms.
TheLab@UNSW is a celebration of cutting-edge comedy, dance, theatre and everything in between, showcasing the talents of UNSW alumni and Sydney’s iconic artists who are redefining the future of performance.
