Prioritise the safety of our community with UNSWAlert testing

On Tuesday 14 April 2026, UNSW will conduct the T1 SMS alert test. 

UNSWAlert is an SMS notification system for students and staff. It’s a vital tool to notify our community if an emergency or crisis situation arises on campus.   

If you’re a new student or staff member, you’ll automatically be registered to receive communication from UNSWAlert unless you choose to opt out.  

Each term, UNSWAlert sends out test notifications. On Tuesday 14 April, students and staff will receive the following SMS message from SafeZone:  

UNSWAlert – TEST. This is a TEST MESSAGE. You do not need to take action or respond to this message. UNSW Emergency.  

Update your details in myUNSW 

To make sure you receive emergency alerts, check that your mobile details are up to date in myUNSW under your personal information. It only takes a minute to update your phone number through the platform.   

If you’ve previously chosen to opt out and would like to receive alert messages again, you can also do this via myUNSW.  

UNSWAlert will only contact you in the event of an emergency or crisis on campus and for testing the system each term.
