Register for a webinar for managers and discover resources to support a healthy and safe workplace.
UNSW has launched two new Psychosocial Safety SharePoint hubs – one for all staff and one for managers – to support healthy, safe and productive work.
Psychosocial hazards can affect how we feel, how we work and how we show up in our lives. These new hubs bring together practical guidance, tools and support services to help everyone understand psychosocial safety and take action early.
The new Psychosocial Safety at UNSW – all staff SharePoint includes information for all staff about what psychosocial safety means at UNSW, common psychosocial hazards and how they can impact wellbeing, and resources and support services available internally and externally.
UNSW’s Chief Assurance & Legal Officer Clair Hodge said, “This resource hub brings together knowledge and practical tools our staff and leaders need to recognise, respond to and proactively manage psychosocial risks. It’s an important step in strengthening the health, safety and wellbeing of the UNSW community.”
Leaders Resource Hub
Managers play a critical role in creating safe, healthy and supportive workplaces. The Leaders Resource Hub provides information to help managers respond to concerns, support staff and build mentally healthy teams.
Leaders at UNSW have a responsibility to:
• lead in ways that support a safe place to work
• maintain a work environment that supports health and safety
• respond to situations that could cause or increase harm
• use available support to respond to situations in a way that is safe and aligns with UNSW policy.
The Resource Hub includes information and advice on:
• what psychosocial hazards can look like in practice
• control measures to manage common hazards
• early warning signs that someone may be struggling
• managing scenarios at work that could cause harm
• next steps if a staff member reports a concern
• tools and resources to support work re-design
• links to internal and external resources and support services.
