About the program

Pathway to Politics for Women is Australia’s most comprehensive and award-winning political training program. Through this accessible, diverse and fully funded program, you’ll:

  • learn to be the politician you want to be in a safe, inclusive space
  • gain first-hand insights from prominent politicians, advisors, speechwriters and media trainers
  • build confidence and clarity about your future in politics
  • help shape Australia’s political landscape.

The NSW program will be delivered by UNSW in 2026. It is hosted by the UNSW Gender Equality Hub, with support from the Gilbert + Tobin Centre, the Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (SIEE), the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the UNSW Business School, the Australian Human Rights Institute (AHRI), and the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC) at UNSW Arts, Design and Architecture.

How to apply

The program is open to women across Australia. Participation is fully funded through the generous support of the Trawalla Foundation and university partners. Travel and accommodation bursaries are available for rural and regional participants.

The 2026 NSW program is free for successful applicants, who will be selected on a competitive basis.
