Rediscover The Lounge in 2026.
UNSW’s Lounge is a space for staff, alumni and their guests to enjoy a smart dining experience on Kensington campus. The staff welcome guests back to the exclusive rooftop venue to dine, connect, celebrate and unwind.
Robert Kania, The Lounge’s Venue Manager, said, “On behalf of the whole team, we’re so pleased to welcome everyone back to The Lounge. It’s always great to see colleagues reconnecting over coffee, lunch, drinks or attending larger cocktail or dinner events while enjoying the view from our beautiful rooftop space.”
Located on Level 11 of the Library Building, The Lounge is open:
- Monday and Friday, 10am–3pm
- Tuesday to Thursday, 9am–7pm.
When to eat
The Café Menu is available on Mondays and Fridays from 10am–2.30pm and Tuesday to Thursday, 9am–4.30pm.
The Lunch and Specials Menu is available every week day. The Lounge offers an ‘express lunch’ from 12–2pm for a quick and classy dining experience on your lunchbreak.
March lunch specials include a smoked salmon bowl with pearl couscous ($18) from 16–20 March and a Bebek Betutu Balinese salad with slow-cooked duck and green mango ($26) from 23–27 March.
Look out for new lunch and café specials landing in April. Did someone say Smash burger?
The Bar Snacks Menu is available Tuesday to Thursday from 3pm–6pm.
Where to relax
Walk-ins are welcome to unwind in the bar area with a coffee, snack or drink. You can take in the views on the terrace or opt for the main dining room.
Book one of the semi-private dining spaces for larger groups. Sliding doors can create a space for up to 12 people. Alternatively, book the private dining room, which can cater up to 14 people in a more formal setting with Teams-enabled AV.
The Terrace and main dining rooms are perfect spaces to celebrate milestones and achievements and can be booked for larger events.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee or staying for a long lunch with colleagues, The Lounge team is there to make your visit enjoyable.
