We encourage staff to self-nominate for and vote in the 2026 UNSW Council elections.
Staff are invited to participate in the 2026 staff elections to the UNSW Council as candidates and voters. Self-nominations open at 9am on Wednesday 18 March 2026 and close at 4pm on Wednesday 1 April 2026.
The UNSW Council is the governing authority of the University and has the following functions:
- overseeing the performance of the University and its academic activities
- approving the University’s mission, strategic direction, annual budget and business plan
- overseeing risk management and systems of control and accountability for the University.
Serving on Council is an opportunity to be part of these decisions, contribute to the University’s future, and develop valuable leadership and governance experience.
Academic and professional staff will receive an email from BigPulse, UNSW’s online election provider, with instructions on how to submit self-nominations and a second email explaining the voting process once the election opens.
You'll find election notices and details on the Elections website. For further enquiries, contact Governance at elections@unsw.edu.au.
