Explore a range of tips to get the most out of this term’s myExperience survey.

The Term 2 myExperience survey is now open and will run until Thursday 14 August. This is your opportunity to hear directly from your students about their engagement with your course throughout the term.

To help you make the most of this feedback opportunity, we’ve gathered some useful resources and expert insights.

Boosting response rates

Associate Professor Kevin Liu from the UNSW Business School shares the BOOST strategy – a practical, research-based approach grounded in behavioural science. It has been successfully used across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses to improve myExperience response rates.

Understanding the comment review process

Dr Nicole Saintilan from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Quality Portfolio walks through the comment review process. She explains how UNSW supports staff in processing student feedback and building feedback resilience.

Running the survey with your students

We recommend setting aside a few minutes of class time to encourage students to complete the survey. Courses where staff actively support completion in class tend to see higher response rates and more meaningful feedback.

Here are a few quick tips to help encourage participation:

  • Explain the value of myExperience: Let students know that their honest, constructive feedback contributes to real changes in courses and teaching.
  • Share impact stories: If you’ve made course changes based on previous feedback, tell your students. You can use the myFeedback Matters tool in Moodle to help with this.
  • Use available resources: Downloadable slides and guides are available to help you present the survey clearly and positively in class.
