Students can share feedback on their experience at UNSW through the upcoming national survey.
The annual Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) Student Experience Survey (SES) will be open from Tuesday 8 September to Sunday 11 October. It gives undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students a chance to provide feedback on their university experience.
Run nationally on behalf of the Australian Government, the survey is one of the most important surveys for the University, and it only takes 10–15 minutes.
“UNSW is committed to providing students with quality and enriching university experiences, both in the classroom and beyond. We really value student feedback and insights that are captured through the SES, because they directly help us to improve our educational quality and engagement, support services and resources, campus life and the overall student experience,” says Professor Sarah Maddison, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Education & Student Experience.
How you can encourage students to participate
Resources to encourage student participation are available on the Teaching Gateway, including lecture slides, talking points, an email signature and TV screens. A dedicated student information webpage includes how the University and faculties have implemented SES feedback.
New in 2026
For staff interested in exploring SES data in more detail, new resources for 2026 include:
- a detailed analysis of UNSW's 2025 SES outcomes presented at the QILT Symposium, exploring what the survey measures and the key drivers of overall student satisfaction
- access to the results dashboard from previous years, including response trends to questions, which can be filtered by faculty or study area.

Eligible students will receive their survey link in an email from the Social Research Centre. Students who complete the survey will go in the draw to win weekly prizes, including four $1000 e-gift cards, four $250 e-gift cards*, as well as an internal giveaway of 50 UNSW-crested jumpers.
