Students and staff can apply for grants of up to $2500 to run events or activities that build belonging on campus and celebrate the diversity of our community.
Applications are now open for the eighth annual UNSW Diversity Festival, with grants available to support students and staff to host events from Monday 21 to Friday 25 September 2026.
Conversations that matter
Following a record-breaking 2025 festival, which welcomed more than 16,000 attendees across 100+ experiences, the program continues to support initiatives that ignite important conversations about equity, diversity and inclusion and strengthen how we connect and engage as a community.
Whether you’re looking to create an experience or bring people together around an idea, the Diversity Festival grant supports initiatives that foster inclusion, build belonging and celebrate diverse communities.
Topics and themes include:
- inclusion and belonging
- cultural, linguistic and religious diversity
- disability inclusion
- Indigenous knowledges and perspectives
- LGBTQIA+ inclusion
- mental health and wellbeing
- gender equity
- widening participation and more.
Events can take many forms, including:
- workshops/demonstrations
- live music and performances
- panel discussions or presentations
- creative or cultural experiences
- art exhibitions
- film screenings
- community-led initiatives and more.
If you have a great idea and don’t require funding, you will still need to submit an application to be part of the program.
