UNSW to host Oceania Hub for a global dialogue on climate change and human rights.
On World Environment Day, Thursday 5 June, UNSW Sydney will take centre stage as an Oceania hub for a 24-hour online global plenary on climate change and human rights.
This plenary is the main event of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit, an initiative partnering with universities around the world. The Summit is co-hosted by the University of Oxford, UN Human Rights and the Right Here, Right Now Climate Alliance and convened by the International Universities Climate Alliance (IUCA).
The Summit will bring together climate advocates, researchers, policy leaders and human rights experts from around the world to spotlight the human impacts of climate change.
UNSW’s role as a regional hub reflects the University’s growing commitment to a sustainable society and planet, economic and social prosperity, and global collaboration, pillars of the new UNSW Strategy: Progress for All. As part of the Summit’s global network, UNSW will help amplify voices and experiences from across the Southern Hemisphere in this international dialogue.
