Keeping our community safe with UNSWAlert testing

On Tuesday 17 June 2025, UNSW will conduct the T2 SMS alert test. 

UNSWAlert is an SMS notification system for students and staff. This vital tool notifies our community when an emergency or crisis situations arises on campus.   

If you are a new student or staff member, you’ll automatically be registered to receive communication from UNSWAlert unless you choose to opt out.  

Each term, UNSWAlert sends out test notifications. On the listed day for T2, students and staff will receive the following SMS message from SafeZone:  

UNSWAlert – TEST. This is a TEST MESSAGE. You do not need to take action or respond to this message. UNSW Emergency Management.  

Update your details in myUNSW 

To ensure you receive emergency alerts, check your mobile details are up to date in myUNSW under your personal information. It only takes a minute to update your phone number through the platform.   

If you’ve previously chosen to opt out and would like to receive alert messages again, you can also do this via myUNSW.  

UNSWAlert will only contact you in the event of an emergency or crisis on campus and for testing the system each term.
