The app offers one-touch immediate emergency assistance and support from UNSW Security.

Safety on campus is a priority at UNSW. Students and staff at our Sydney campuses can now download SafeZone for free from the App Store or Google Play to access personalised emergency assistance, communicate directly with the UNSW Security Operations Centre and receive timely safety and emergency notifications.

SafeZone’s features include:

  • an emergency button to immediately contact Security
  • a first aid button to request initial medical assistance
  • a button for non-urgent safety enquiries
  • a check-in timer for staff working alone or late at night
  • UNSW shuttle bus tracking
  • capacity to report suspicious activity
  • real-time notifications, including information if there is a crisis or serious incident on campus.

UNSW is prioritising campus safety, in line with our Gendered Violence Strategy 2022–25. SafeZone makes it easier to seek help and report safety concerns, including those related to potential gendered violence.
