Everything you ever wanted to know about menopause
Are you curious about menopause, or do you have questions you’ve always wanted to ask? Have you heard multiple different answers to the same question and want to know which one is actually correct?
Join us for a special Q&A event where UNSW staff can get answers directly from two of Australia’s leading menopause experts, Dr John Eden and Dr Amanda Beech.
Our experts
Dr John Eden (MB BS MD RCOG RANZCOG CREI)
John is a reproductive endocrinologist and gynaecologist. He is a Conjoint Associate Professor in the Department of Women and Children’s Health, Royal Hospital for Women, and in UNSW’s School of Clinical Medicine. He is a Visiting Medical Officer at the Royal Hospital for Women where he is Head of the Menopause Unit. He is a member of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) at Prince of Wales Hospital. John is on the executive committee and co-chair of the NSW Health (ACI) Menopause Hub project. His research and clinical interests include managing menopause after breast cancer, early menopause, hormones and mood disorders, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and hormonal migraine.
Dr Amanda Beech (FRACP MBBS (Hons) PHED BSc)
Amanda is a Women’s Health Endocrinologist and Obstetric Physician at the Royal Hospital for Women. She is the President of the International Society of Obstetric Medicine and holds a conjoint senior lecturer position at UNSW. She is the Director of the Bone Density Service at the Royal Hospital for Women and coordinates the Secondary Fracture Liaison Service. She was the inaugural Co-Chair of the NSW Health ACI Menopause Taskforce and is part of the team that established the Menopause Hub at the Royal Hospital for Women. She has a breadth of clinical experience in women's health across all ages, from preconception counselling, fertility and pregnancy to menopause and osteoporosis.

The Q&A session will be facilitated by Cathy Brown, Director Diversity & Inclusion. This is a unique opportunity for UNSW staff to get evidence-based answers and practical advice.
